Striped Logs
Looking through my previous Daily Exposures, it wouldn’t appear that I am much of an outdoorsy person. However that is far from the truth, I absolutely love exploring the great outdoors. I grew up running through the woods of my Grandparents back yard, making make shift forts out of fallen trees (They lived on a lake too so when the trunks of the trees would get pulled out of the ground they would create this little creeks of water making a sort of mote around my fort 🙂 ).
Often times I would get myself in trouble by climbing up to high into trees, resulting in breaking branches and tumbling down to the ground hitting each and every branch I could possibly find on the way down. You would think I would learn my lesson after the first few falls, however I have always been one to push into territories of bordering failure. In one instance I sprang both ankles when I hit the ground, resulting in not being able to walk for a week and a half while having to wear my Moms slippers in order to house my softball sized swollen ankles (Not a very cool fashion statement as a preteen).
Living in the city I don’t have much access to woodsy areas where I can just run through and explore like the old days. However when I do get an opportunity it is quite refreshing and brings me back to the memories of my childhood. Though Im not climbing trees too much any more, I still find them fascinating and especially these days love seeing the various textures and colors they have to offer with the rest of the world.
A great photo. 😀 Looks a lot like cherry bark.
It could be, Im no good with knowing what different trees are haha. Thanks Shez
I spend a lot of time outdoors camping, hiking, photos, fishing, etc. Well not so much the past couple of years. It”s that LIFE thing getting in the way. 😉
Yea it keeps doing that doesn’t it, haha.
