As most of you know, I purchased an old Canon AE-1 a few weeks ago, only to find that it leaked light worse than the faucet at my place back in Virginia… and trust me that damn faucet leaked water like it was going out of style. Last week I took the time to go through and replace all the seals, and have been shooting a few scenes here and there with it anticipating the outcome. Well, today I finished off the role, got it developed and as the title of the post suggests the repair was a success!!
I absolutely love having this camera with me to shoot on occasion being it brings a completely different feel to my street shots. I shoot with a Canon 50mm which forces me to get even closer than I would have to with the 50 I use on my crop censored 550D. Its a completely different experience not knowing how the resulting image will turn out, and having to crank the film each time. Its strangely relaxing actually, as Im not machine gunning through brackets of various exposures. I cant wait to get this camera figured out, and continue to do some random shooting with it.
