Smoke Signals

It has arrived!!

As many of you probably seen on the Nick Exposed Facebook Page I recently received my new speedlite and radio triggers in the mail. I’ve been talking about getting some flash units to play with, and finally put in my order last week. Its probably a bit cliche to shoot some smoke photography right after getting a flash, but at the same time its sooo much fun :)

I thought it would be cool to bring back the candle that was featured in my light painting photo way back in January, which is now burnt down from its circle shaped origin to a more flattened bowl. I enlisted the help of my good friend Kelly and his girlfriend to create these wonderfully abstract smoke signals, which Im sure was rather monotonous/repetitive being every couple seconds they would have to light and extinguish… re-light and extinguish… re- you get the point.

For all you small flash shooters, be on the lookout for some diy light modifier tutorials in the near future! Im about to get my craftiness on ;)
