If you recall back in June, I posted this “Roadside Chevy” pic, with a “retro” edit (You can read more about it in the original post HERE).
Well, since then I’ve reorganized my lightroom catalogs and unfortunately lost all my previous edits :/ . But… not before saving the settings used in this shot as a preset!!
Ive made quite a few presets throughout my days of editing, however this particular one sits as my most used preset to date. The great thing is its easily modified, creating completely different moods and styles, from retro/vintage to hip and urban.
If you know how to change the “Fill Light” and “White Balance” sliders in Lightroom (3) you can easily modify this preset to fit a look thats suitable for you and your image.
Fill Light:

As seen in the image group above (click image to see larger), changing the “Fill Light” value can easily change the contrast and mood of the image.
Image Settings: (TL) Original image No preset is applied (TR) Retro Preset with Fill Light set to 20 (BL) Preset with Fill at 30 (BR) Preset with Fill at 60
White Balance:

Changing the white balance color temperature can do wonders for changing the feel as well, seen in the image set above (click image to see larger).
Image Settings: (L) Original image no preset, (M) Preset with Fill Light at 20, (R) Same settings as middle but with a shift in color temperature (on the cooler side)
You dig it?! If so its yours for FREE!! I know for sure it works in Lightroom 3, not sure if it will work in LR4 however.
DOWNLOAD THE PRESET FOR FREE HERE (This link is going to redirect you to my DeviantArt page, where you will find the download link in the upper right hand corner next to the preview image)
After you download and unzip the file, just double click the preset file and it should auto-install into Lightroom.
If you have any questions feel free to either post them below or shoot me an email (nick@nickexposed.com)

Nice preset indeed.. And I thought I should let you know that this works in LR4 as well!
Awesome!! I was hoping it would
Thanks for testing for us Jawahar!
